Fubutsushi takes its name from a Japanese idea: the small details that signal a change in season. Light, texture, objects, atmosphere. We apply this thinking to clothing.
Our work begins with fabric. Specifically, with Japanese textiles that carry their own histories. Kimono silk. Yukata cotton. Bolt fabric that would otherwise be unused or lost. 古き良きもの , the value held in things that carry time.
We do not reproduce traditional garments. We reinterpret the textile into forms that can be worn in everyday life. The silhouette changes. The material does not. This is what ものづくり means for us.
Production is intentionally limited. We do not scale beyond the available cloth. Each run ends when the fabric ends.

Re:Kimono is organised across seven model groups, each developed around Japanese textile. Availability varies with the material and production run. Verified fabric IDs, measurements, and purchase status are published only with an actual product listing.
Material: Yukata cotton · 浴衣地
Open-collar shirt cut in the aloha silhouette using traditional yukata cotton. Lightweight, breathable, and suitable for warm seasons. Pattern varies by fabric run. Designed for casual daily wear. Not a costume garment.
Material: Kimono silk · 正絹
The silk version of the aloha silhouette. Uses unused or deadstock kimono bolt fabric. Fluid drape, natural sheen, structured collar. Limited quantities per fabric run. Evaluated individually for wearability before production.
Material: Yukata cotton · 浴衣地
A more structured shirt silhouette using yukata cotton. Closed collar, clean placket. Designed for wear across seasons. Suitable as a light overshirt or standalone piece.
Material: Kimono silk · 正絹
Structured shirt silhouette in kimono silk. Reinforced stand collar, sew-in interlining. Each piece follows the available bolt. Pattern and colorway determined by the textile.
Material: Yukata cotton / Kimono silk · Mixed
Wide-leg pants cut from kimono and yukata fabric. Relaxed waistband. Fabric determines the weight and drape of each run. Intended to be worn as a full textile statement or separate piece.

Everyday jersey tee with a yukata cotton pocket. The textile detail is the focus. Accessible entry point into the Re:Kimono range. Available in multiple colorways per season.

Cotton
Breathable, durable, and easy to maintain. The base of many yukata garments. Well suited for everyday use and repeated washing.
Yukata Fabric
Lighter weight, softer structure, casual context. We adapt yukata fabric as a base for modern garments rather than reproducing traditional forms.

Re:Kimono is the main product family within Fubutsushi. It covers garments made from kimono and yukata textile, reinterpreted into modern wearable silhouettes. The family includes shirts, pants, pocket tees, and skirts across silk and cotton versions.
Kinran is a Japanese brocade woven with gold or metallic thread. Fubutsushi produces a small number of garments using kinran fabric. Availability is extremely limited and varies by run.
Many are made in Japan. Some combine Japanese textiles with international production. We are transparent about this in our product and fabric documentation.
